Silent Rebellion

In 1943, Emma, a young woman living in Switzerland near the French border, has been sheltered from the trauma of the Occupation. Her life changes abruptly when she faces an unexpected pregnancy. Raised in a conservative rural Protestant community, she must carve out her own path to independence while Europe burns around her. Marie-Elsa Sgualdo, whose Cannes-selected short films explored women’s experiences, directs Lila Gueneau in a period drama marked by technical precision.
